Best current and alltime fighters from the following geographical regions.

Before I do this though, I must make it clear that my knowledge of fighters from the pre-1950's is not very good, especially ones that did not fight in America. Even my knowledge of fighters from the 50's and 60's is not the best. Im just chucking a quick list together that might not be 100% right, so feel free to put your own up and critique mine. My regions might not be geographically correct but you will get the idea.

    North America (USA, Canada)

Alltime- Ray Robinson or Henry Armstrong

    Current- PBF

Central America (Mexico, down to Panama, and the Carribean)

    Alltime- Roberto Duran

    Current- Miguel Cotto

    South America

    Alltime- Jofre or Monzon

    Current- Naveraz, Linaries.

    Western Europe (UK, Italy, Germany)

Alltime- Lennox, soon to be Joe surely. (I reckon a few will disagree here)

    Current- Joe Calzaghe

Eastern Europe (Poland, Russia, Ukraine, include some ex-soviet central asian states aswell like Kazakhstan)

    Alltime- Kostya Tszyu

    Current- Wlad

    North-East Asia (Korea, Japan, China)

    Alltime- Harada

    Current- Hasegawa or Naito

    SE Asia (Indonesia, Phillipines, Thailand)

    Alltime- Manny Pacquiao

    Current- Manny Pacquiao

    Oceania (Oz, NZ, Samoa)

    Alltime- Jeff Fenech, Les Darcy?

Current- Dare I say Mundine, he seems to be the best one there. Katsidas is very close. Tua and Masoe would have been up there a few years ago but they arent doing much now.

    Africa

    Alltime- Azumah Nelson, Dick Tiger.

Current- Baloyi, Peter or Clottey but remember Azumah is fighting next week, so I guess he has to take it :D

Couldnt really think of any truly great West Asian fighters, like from the middle east and the sub continant. I know there are a few around but I dont know about great ones.

Yep, that is correct. There are only 7 states in the Central Americas, and Mexico is not one of them. Its a common mistake I guess, but knowing that Mexico is part of the NAFTA agreement should be a dead give away of its geography (so, shame on ill-educated Americans). But then again, we should blame the system and not its people.

I'm originally from Europe and I cannot imagine a 15 year old school boy/girl, there, being ignorant about the composition of their own continent.

I find this very trivial, being that regions and continents are sometimes loosely defined. Mexico is considered to be part of North America by many geographers, or sometimes considered 'Middle America' by others. In a strict sense you are correct that it is not a part of Central America. However, in a geographical sense, its cultural, historic, and linguistic ties are affiliated with Latin America-- or Central America if you will-- more so than North America.

Oh.... & one more thing. You said you are originaly from Europe as if it is a continent. Most geographers now agree that 'Europe' is indeed not a continent, but a part of the larger continent of Eurasia. This is apparent if you were to look at an atlas, as there is no physical demarcation between the two 'continents'. There is only an arbitrary cultural divide, the same one might say divides Mexico and the U.S. So, be very careful of accusing others of ignorance.

Read the introduction to my post mate. I say that my geographical regions might not be correct.
The reason I included Mexico in central america is because America has so many fighters who are all time greats therefore they would be overepresented in that region in this case. Mexico is a boxing superpower and I think including in central america with countries like panama and puerto rico is fairer.
