    Good points.

Vitali fought Lewis (much bigger, better harder-hitter than Rahman) and tried everything to get a rematch with him.

And then he was afraid of Rahman ?

His body is just shot, with a long career and a history of injuries in kickboxing.

He should have retired after the second pullout from the Rahman fight, but to suggest that he was worried about Rahman?

A healthy Vitali would have KO'd Rahman in two or three.

    Rossman vs. Galindez championship rematch
    In February
    This content is protected
, Rossman participated in what is sometimes considered one of professional boxing's most embarrassing moments (at least in modern times). At a scheduled rematch between Rossman and Galindez, Rossman was left waiting in the ring as Galindez failed to appear: the challenger's camp was disputing the neutrality of the judges scoring the fight. After immediate attempts to remedy the situation failed, the fight was suspended, and rescheduled two months later in April 1979. With Rossman perhaps still fretting about boxing politics, Galindez was focused on regaining the title, and was able to defeat Rossman. Rossman apparently broke his right hand during the bout, severely limiting his boxing ability. The pain became worse over the course of the fight, and unbearable to a point where Rossman told his father-manager after the ninth round that he could not continue. Galindez was thus able to reclaim the championship.

Freddy Norwood and Francois Botha showed their chicken DNA pulling out of their proposed fights agains Cuban pro beginners Gamboa and Solis.

But it seems that a Cuban can be a chicken too... I didn't know chickens can swim but Juan Carlos Gomez, a guy who was labeled as a joke after his KO loss, and a cheater after his cocain test, chickened through the Ocean to the USA, away from Ahmet Öner and the Vladimir Virchis eliminator fight which was won by his OWN promoter...

The former CW great a few good months back was a nobody, was suspended, nobody wanted to promote him as a lazy, hearless cocainist addict and yet Öner not only wanted to get rich through him but he maneged to get him a title eliminator against McCall and won the rights to stage another eliminator against Virchis putting down hard cash of his own...

Big money to get him to the rankings again, get the sanctioning bodys' and boxing community's respect back and this very talented but much much more ungreatful fool chickened out AGAIN. He can't come out from that situation clean. He had a great opportunity, his own team was ready to put on a final eliminator with their terms, ring, fans and judges and he threw that away. Let me tell you this: Gomez will NEVER EVER step into the ring for a world title as Öner hopefully will prevent him from any opportunity. All he has to do is to call up his lawyer to get some paperwork done and Gomez is off the stage for good.

    Any other chickens today, guys?

JOE CALZAGHE pulled out of a series of fights a few years ago. He posponed a fight against Jeff Lacy and 2 or 3 bouts against Glen Johnson citing injury reasons. The Lacy one was genuine and he went on to fight him anyway, not so sure about Johnson though.

One the other hand, BERNARD HOPKINS agreed to face Calzaghe about 4 year ago and pulled out after everything had been agreed.

Would have, could have, should have.

When it came down to it, he was forced by the WBC to fight his mandatory after trying to fight Brock, then cancelled 4 straight times, then returned once Rahman lost.

That's exactly what you posted the first time.
Your post has gained nothing from your exposure to the facts.

He had leg surgery after he retired and is just recently getting back to healthy. But of course, that wasn't it, it was scary big Rahman who kept him away.

vitali had 2 be forced to fight his mandatory. he kept trying to fight brock instead of his mandatory rahman and then got forced to fight his mandatory.

of course a fighter will take a fight for the title when he's a contender. old holmes went after a prime tyson and prime holyfield for the title, but he avoided guys when he was champ.

Didn't Kermit back out of a Shane Mosley fight?

    Or was it vice versa?
