Floyd Patterson has to be the nr 1 guy here.

Gets brutally stopped by Ingo, shakes that off to return the favour twice. Is then manhandled by Liston twice in front of the whole world, but bounces back with wins over Machen and Chuvalo to put himself in line for a title shot.

This will turn out to be his probably worst defeat. Gets beaten down over 10 rds and toyed with in the eyes of many. More or less the worst that can happen to a fighter. Terrell was never the same after similar treatment.

But Floyd picks himself up and have a go at the up and coming generation of contenders. In the eyes of many he should have been 3-0 against Quarry and Ellis and the first man to win the HW title three times, but instead he was 0-1-2. That crushing disappointment would probably have been the final straw for anyone else, and he does go away for a while but comes back with a win over Bonavena at the age of 37 and a final dignity restoring loss to Ali.

So he's my clear nr 1.

Otherwise we have Barrera. Bouncing back from the Junior Jones losses and then also the beat down by Pac.

Foreman in the long run of course.

Holy came back from looking all spent against Bowe to record his greatest wins.

Ali from losing to Frazier and Norton to vanquish the guy who had defeated them.

Corrales from the beat down by Floyd.

These are some off the top of my head. More that comes to mind?

Wilfredo Vazquez did this several times, so I suggest looking at his career as he's a bit of a poster boy for the subject. His performance streak after the Conteras KO is the most notable.

Roberto Duran bounces back from a surprising loss in a non title bout to Esteban De Jesus on Nov 17 1972, loses by a unanimous decision, even suffers a first round knockdown. But then continues to defend his title, then defends his WBA lightweight Title against Esteban on March 16 1974, in Panama City, Panama. He again gets floored by De Jesus in round 1, only to fight on, stopping Esteban in round 11. Then unifies the WBA Title against WBC Lightweight Champion De Jesus in a title unification match on January 21 1978, Duran totally dominates De Jesus, stops him in round 12 to unify the titles, closing out their trilogy.

Duran is a good call over all.

Came back after No Mas and the losses to Laing and Benitez to turn back the clock with a great losing effort to Hagler which he followed up with a brilliant win over Moore only to be crushed by Hearns. After five years more or less in the wilderness he then came back to beat Barkley in one of the greatest wins of all time.

Lots of ebb and flow in the latter part of his career.

Yeah, and how. It's very rare for someone to reverse a KO loss with a first round KO like that.

Pacquiao and his 2 KO losses. He was also given a pretty decent beating by Morales.

Pretty amazing performances in between each of those.

As much as I dislike the guy, Lennox Lewis came back from two 1 punch KOs to have a great career.

Hearns didn't get beaten often but he was damn good at bouncing back.

Wladimir Klitschko. He'd already lost to Ross Purrity on his way up. Then, after establishing himself as the top contender ....

Crushed in 2 rounds by Sanders 2003.
Crushed in 5 rounds by Brewster 2004.

Then went on a long undefeated run until 2015.

Good call but the quality of his opposition during the unbeaten period is questionable at best. But that wasn’t what the OP was asking so great call.

Strange isn't how we as boxing fans/followers can hone in a fighter who we don't like, you say its Lewis, ok fair enough, I found him a fairly likeable fighter and person, seemed to me to speak sense on a lot of issues, his career and opponents, etc., so yea not sure why you don't like him , for what its worth my pet dislike is Mayweather ! all I can come up with is, I don't like his style of fighting ? keep well.

I always think of how I thought, when Benn got schooled by Watson then stopped by Eubank, and yet still came back to be a very good Supermiddle champion.

    Mike Weaver anyone?

Bit of a paradox in that expectations were almost zero when he suffered 8 losses (including 2 KO's and 2 TKO's) in his first 22 fights before being put on the right path by Ken Norton and a game changing book.

Gomez was solid in his next 9 after being barreled by Sanchez. He then met another ATG in the making.
