i consider this borderline cheating tbh, and i have my doubts a lot of them are doing it cleanly supermiddleweight - Gilberto Ramirez - used to drain to make 160 not is clearly draining to stay in the weak 168 division becuase he knows he will get battered at 175 Callum Smith - again he's style relys a lot on strength and power advantages and he is a 6'3 supermiddleweight draining the life out of himself to avoid 175. He competed at 178 in the amateurs 5 years ago ffs middleweight - Peter Quillin - the mans weight draining ways caught up with him and he's long vacations meant he finally couldn't do it any more and got sparked out. No sign of him coming back either light middleweight - Canelo Alvarez Demitrius Andrade Jermell Charlo Jermall Charlo Juliam Williams Tony Harrison Willie Nelson - it may sound like a lot for the one divison but 154 is littered with guys 6 foot plus who are living on tic tacs to avoid 160 welterweight - Errol Spence guy is draining hard to make 147 light weight - robert easter jr - the guy is about 6 foot, he should be competing at 147 already not 135! featherweight - Gary Russell jr - he's well documented crippling addiction to sauna's has been well highlighted, he is seriously draining himself to make weight Bantemweight - Jamie McDonnell , no idea how that man makes bantemweight
Where is the Filipino Flash/seven year diet crash Nonito Donaire? He did that **** and was a super hype job at HBO until Rigo stole his soul like Shang Tsung. Mikey Garcia is on his HBO 3 Days event vomiting to make super feather weight. He was hyped to drain by HBO until Yuriorkis wanted to beat the breaks out of him.
your living in the past this is about current fighters. unless your from some backwards eastern european country and all you can get in the tv is reruns of happy days
The day before weigh ins are legalized cheating that typically lets people fight opponents naturally two or three weight classes smaller than them. It's basically the same as when HGH was legal in mma and all these forty year old guys were tossing people around like rag dolls. If you turn a blind eye competitors will seek an edge and exploit that ****.
i know, most of the 154 division are weight draining chickens living on tic tacs to avoid the weak 160 division, makes total sense
They are still current fighters right? BTW Peter Quillin no longer campaigns at 160 and the rest don't have to move up because they just accomplished something at their weight class. Robert Easter makes weight fine, but you picked him out and a bunch of other like him because they are tall. Nelson, The Charlo's , Andrade don't have trouble making 154 or they would have moved a long time ago. You have a tall ***** phobia and think just because they are tall they should move, but it's boxing, it goes by WEIGHT!!
yes but donaire was fighting at featherweight not so long a ago a weight he had no business at and mikey is at 135 and isnt even an active fight, he is drawing social security because haymon cant get him any fights
Does not matter to me. No one cared before ,why start now. If they moved up many of you would say that they are to big for 160. Just using past to present from Pavlik who was 6'2" to Golovkin who is 5'10" nobody like you were asking them to move up. Do you understand what I mean by that?
i never mentioned pavlik because he is a retired alcoholic with nothing to do with current boxing, only thing id ask him to do is clean my windscreen. ggg is 5'10 and 160. robert easter is foot and 135 and clearly weight drained, the charlos, andrade, williams etc are all taller than ggg and draining themselves stupid to avoid fighting guys their own size, canelo too
Kell Brook must of been cutting some weight to make Welter? In the face off with Kellerman Amir Khans trainer said he'd love to be a fly on the wall when Canelo rehydrates?I know he refuses to show his weight on fight night but does he give his weight 30 days out and seven days out like Brook and Golovkin did?
Just because a fighter is tall it means is drained, no one ever says that Tommy Hearns was a drained 154 even when he reached 175.
True but Tommy would of been under weigh ins on the day of the fight so he wouldn't of been ballooning up in weight? When Canelos weight gets mentioned and how he manages to do it I've read posts on here that mention blood doping, how exactly would that work in cutting weight?
I wouldn't defend Canelo since he is clearly about 175 in the ring. I was talking about fighters like Easter or Barthelemy that are just tall for their divisions.
These are the same guys who swear Mayweather ducked a 5'11" Margarito at 147 now talking about fighters who are tall are too big for their "WEIGHT CLASSES". Fuq that man.
