do you think fighters who grown up in 3rd world countries are more tougher then
fighters who have grown up in the west ?

i have done some interesting research on this subject and my findings show that in general fighters who have grown up in 3rd world countries are more mentally tougher and physically more tougher .

    what are your views discuss.

Depends what you define as a 3rd world country , the only third world countries are in Africa and a few in Asia. All of Europe is either developed or developing nations, I'd say almost all of Central and South America are developing countries not 3rd world countries

Seems like the toughest come from poor upbringings. One will definitely go through hell to make sure he/she never has to feel hungry or cold at nights again.

very good point indeed this reminds me of pacman i was reading once he would be lucky to have 1 meal a day for him and his family he would fight in the streets for money he was in bad poverty which i think kind of explains his never die attitude

tough situations make tough people. boxing is 90% heart in my opinion, if you have the will to keep going when the going gets tough then you will find yourself ontop.

and nothing is held more paramount then the will to live, its the most basic instinct of basically every living thing. thats why im always amazed at fighters like my personal favorite barrera who came from a farely wealthy family and up bringing (his father owned a set design business that worked with television networks). for a fighter to not NEED to fight but have that fire in their belly... that always spoke to me

of course their are exceptions but the majority of tough fighters faced poverty.

Its more down to personal circumstances and personal character than anything I think. If you have nothing, you generally have a greater desire to make something out of yourself. Boxing is such a tough sport, if you don't really want it you likely won't make it, and often those who want it the most are those who have no other option but to make it. Its the same with many sports, e.g. many soccer players from all around the world are from poor backgrounds.

Definitely mentally. Unfortunately their lack of proper nutritional awareness, a lack of thinking analytically (slickness) is a far greater liablity than toughness an asset

I think this isn't true. To say that one person is mentally tougher than another person because of poverty is being to simplistic. The desire to win and thrive from adversity must have an affect. The majority of boxing champions especially American and British are not from impoverished backgrounds, not saying they were rich or well off but they had two three meals a day.

    African boxers are all ****.

Hence boxers from 3rd world countries been tougher is a myth.

Of course you would refer to only pacman "research" lol. Just because you are born in the west does not mean you had it easier. A lot of boxers took up boxing because its the only choice one had.

Poverty is a big reason why people view black people as better athletes. When you aren't cooped up inside playing video games/eating McDonald's, you are outside running around playing basketball and what not.

That is why a guy like Pacquiao is such a great athlete. He grew up without anything so he was always fighting and in the streets running around. Sounds stupid but it's true.
