In his fight with Cotto, Mosley showed me that he still had something left in the tank. He's been very resilient through his career.

He never ever throw combos the same e ver again, but only went for 2 hit combos or loading up with on big shot to the head with his right hand or a big loaded up left to the body. Before Forrest he throw punches in bunches. That was his defense his incredible offense. In the first round of their fight Mosley was throwing combos and that all ended after he was KD. He was extremely hurt and didn't recover until like the 7th or so round. That uppercut Forrest throw was something from hell and it damaged him. No longer did he throw his fantastic combos from a unique close range that only he could do.

Not to say he didnt load up the right before, but seriously, he was never the same. In the cotto fight he fought well, but he was wnot like those days before Forrest. Shane was my favorite at the time, and seeing him get hurt like that was a big thing. And he has never been the same, not shot, not ruined, but not how he used to be after that uppercut and loss.

You have an agenda, to deny it is to deny the obvious. You constantly downplay his victories/performances, claiming to have only been impressed with his as a fighter in one half of one fight, namely the Kessler bout.

I am not a fanboy, in 05 I would have ridiculed you if I was told that in 09 he would be considered one of the top 2/3 fighters in the world. His career was a waste of talent between 97-05 with the odd challenging and worthwhile bout. The Lacy fight was a significant moment in his career, would he be exposed as a total fraud or would he prove that yes he was a world class fighter?

He responded superbly in that fight, and deserves credit for it. Lacy may not have been "runied" but he has not been the same fighter since. The shoulder injury isof course a very important part of that as well.

I could ask you to grow up as well, you are a positive contributer to this message board, stimulate discussion and reasearch the points you do make to a good level but your constant Calzaghe bashing does you no credit, we all know how you feel about his career, it is getting to the beating a dead horse stage now.

It could be Hatton by Mayweather but in reality Hatton retired Maywether ... so that is tossup.

Somebody should tell Bowe that the Holyfield fight that he won is what really ruined him. He testified in court that the Golota fights ruined him and gave him brain damage and he had doctors to back up his testimony.

I'm with the thread starter on this one.

I think injuries, however, really do ruin fighters.

One that sticks in the mind for me is Lloyd Honeyghan, totally ruined by Marlon Starling. He won a few meaningless fights afterwards but was literally half the fighter he was before Starling beat the **** out of him.
