Can someone remind the Calzaghe fans that Byron Mitchell was stopped prematurely by the referee, that it wasn't a knockout by any definition?

Best example of this is Jack Johnson v Stanley Ketchel. Youtube it!

 

goods the wrong word but watson - eubank 2, 11th round. eubank was down only to deliver an horrific uppercut that ultimatly maimed watson for life .

 

why bother with that comment ? in fact don't answer that . this thread is not about him and too many threads are turned into calzaghe love ins or bashings .

 

It was a knockout by definition, since it was a Technical Knock out (TKO), which happens when the ref sees fit to intervene.

It happened in Torres/Holt II, although with a headbutt.

 

just seen its knockouts, thought it meant both getting knocked down. in that case pacfan is right and also watson did come out for the 12th, although in a pitiful state

 

Not sure about the Byron Mitchell stoppage - whilst not late, it was hardly the worst one we have seen.

What really pissed me off was Joe asking Parris to stop it - but to the ref's credit he allowed it to continue a bit longer until Mitchell was no longer firing back.

 

That only could have been the single luckiest punch ever landed in boxing history.
