One pretty recent example I can think of is Jorge Arce. I was an Arce fan before the Mijares match and during/after the fight it was one of those cases where I liked him even more after a huge loss. Even though he was completely outclassed, he showed no signs of quitting and truly gave everything he had. Most types of fighters like him in that situation would give up or at least get extremely frustrated in that situation, but he didn't. He managed to stay focused and relaxed while being covered in blood and getting schooled worse and worse every round. I gained huge respect for him after that loss.

 

I admire almost any fighter whose willing to risk it in there...

 

I became a fan of Matthew Saad Muhammad as a young teenager when I saw him fight Marvin Johnson the second time in 1979

I recently became a fan of Miguel Cotto when he beat Ricardo Torres

 

Ill pick a fighter who is short on fans.

Jermain Taylor, I hated him so much for the gift decisions he got from Hopkins but then jumped over when he gave Winky hell for 12 rounds and calling out winky again immediately after the fight even after getting screwed over for the first fight, contract wise.

But with his recent back fire talk to Miranda before the Spinks fight

"You want to fight fine! you are money in the bank to me....Money...in...the...bank!"

that was great

 

Smoking Joe, made me a boxing fan. I will always remember the fight he had against Ali in 1971, this was actually the first time I was expoxed to HW boxing....

 

I became a fan of both Malignaggi and Cotto after their fight. Well, not a fan, because I'm a fan of the sport, and not fighters themselves. But I'm less indifferent towards those than almost everyone else.

I actually did become a fan of Hugo Hernan Garay after his fights against Szolt Erdei. It's such a pity his fight with Paul Briggs is off :-(

I have grown to like Hatton, and Cotto most recently.....I hope Hatton can find a way against Mayweather, but I hope Mosley takes Cotto...... Mosley is my second favorite fighter, I like Mayweather a good deal too but I like Hatton a little more so I hope he can win.....

 

I becom big fan of Andrade after that fight. He seems to be a nice guy
as well, and i think he will be big trouble for anybody in SMW. I'm looking forward to se him next time!

 

I have a soft spot for Calzaghe to, even when he will fight my favorit
Kessler. It seems like he is a down to ground type of guy, i like that.
