i didnt rate bowe at all till he beat holyfield in a great performance, and, as i recall, a bit of an upset??....eubank made more of a fan of me in his loseing efforts to thompson and calzaghe than he ever did winning...
I like Adamek for his two battles with Briggs. I became a Dawson fan when he schooled Adamek. My respect for Donaire grew a lot when he beat Darchinyan (although I am still a solid Darchinyan fan too)
hatton after he won somthing else than the wbu belt. calzaghe after he beat lacy i knew of him but didnt know he had it in him to win so decivly. joel casamayor when he was robbed against diego in the 2nd fight, after that i had watched everyone of his fights and have scowered for every bit of footage on him.
Agreed about Spinks. Whether or not you scored that for him, he's the main reason so many people are hating on Taylor now, and it was Cory's fault. He's the one who boxed beautifully. Jermain just had no answers. But its the people that would expect Cory to go toe to toe with him or whatever. I thought he outclassed him during that bout and looked amazing doing it. And Nonito Donaire hands down has me as a fan for life after absolutely starching Darchynian. That was an amazing display, and I'm looking forward to Nonito dominating the little guys for a while to come.
JC vs Lacy. Calzaghe came in as the underdog, from a media perspective. He beat Lacy at his own game with class and ability. I still believe it surprised JC quite a bit. Dawson vs Adamek. I had no knowledge of Dawson prior to the match, and I had tremendous respect for Adamek. Even so early in his career, he simply outclassed Adamek.
Pavlik's abuse of Miranda made me a fan. . . plus he says he doesnt ONLY want the big money fights. He wants to fight for the fans. God bless the Ghost!
Bazooka Limon vs Chacon in the 1980's...hell of a fight, you could use every boxing adjective to describe that fight....back and forth...what action
