I like Ike Williams at 4. Can't forget that guy. He was a monster. Leonard not getting a #1 is interesting. I know Ray Arcel might have voted for him.

How can you say that when Benny Leonard is rated 2nd and Ambers, Gans and Tony C are all on the list? Pre 1940's is well represented. If anything, the biggest omission is Pernell not being on.

They did not include many ATGs in all their lists.
Perhaps it's cause some were still active at the time, but overall their lists suck.

Everyone on the list is an all-time great. They are just different all-time greats than the ones you would list.

I think Ortiz should be several notches higher, and I would replace Beau Jack with Joe Brown.

I think Welsh is a very questionable pick for top 10, and Ritchie, while underrated, doesn't belong in the top 10 either.

That you're sayng the list should have 4 fighters from the one decade, should really give you pause.

It's not impossible for the 4 of the 10 best over 100 years, to have all fought in the same decade, but it does seem a bit unlikely.

you severely underrating welsh , take carlos ortiz and his weak resume what names on ortizs resume equal , benny leonard( a guy on this list mind you , Willie ritchie ,ad wolgast , Johnny dundee , Jim driscoll ,abe attell )

of course i would put more guys from bennys era on this list than any other era 1.it was the deepest era for lightweights in my opinion 2. Back then the feathers, the lights crossed over and fought each other a lot more . You were always fighting good competition , hence why a lot of guys have beaten as many as 7 different hall of fame opponents( benny leonard, freddie welsh , johnny kilbane , Rocky Kansas , Johnny dundee etc ) Welshs resume is better than roberto durans too( quality of opponents beaten )!
