Do you think Joe Louis ranks higher than a 147 lb Ray Robinson who was the best ever p4p boxer & this was his best ever weight ? Do you think a MWT Ray Robinson in decline that won & LOST the MWT title 5 times in a decade is better than the prime yrs of the only ever undefeated HWT champion Rocky Marciano ? Was Mike Tyson a better p4p fighter than Ray Leonard or did he even beat better fighters than Ray Leonard beat ? Was Lennox Lewis as good a fighter or as dominant in this decade as Roy Jones ? Im not saying your definitely wrong or anything but I just thought I would throw in some interesting questions. Botswana :smoke
Excellent video, cheers :good Ps. My 2 all time favourite fighters were robbed.... No award given in 1966, that was a very bitter move as it was Ali`s best year in his entire career but obviously with all the hatred of Ali & this vietnam **** going on, they abandoned it that year as nobody else would have come within a 1000 miles of beating Ali to the award. 1999... I agree with the WBC, Erik Morales was FOTY, not Paulie Ayala, at least Morales got to beat his ass in 2002 handing him his 1st decisive loss, that almost makes up for it. Botswana :good
Its pure subjectivity at its best old boy..........my selection means diddly poo.......BUT at that point in my life........i think it was a selection I felt best with. To be fair.......i didnt want to think Marciano was the best for the 50s so i juggled......plus Louis was awesome. I tend to biased towards bigger fighters............they have it harder. We love how Pacman is fighting De La Hoya........are we talking a good 15 pounds or 20 pounds natural weight? around 4 inches in height. Yet Ruiz fights......Valeuev........disadvantaged at around 100 pounds and 10 inches. Tyson knocked out men literally a foot taller, and 90 per cent of the time opponents that were heavier. L. Lewis for a big man were pretty sweet.
Granted the heavies dont help themselves- Valeuv could easily lose around 30 pounds and come in 290 flat. Ruiz, Rahman should all become in below 220 as there muscle weight is around that. Haye muscle weight is around 215.........what he comes in.... But we all know that Povetkin, Ibgragimov, Toney muscle weight is around 200 or 205.
