Fighters only lose fans after a loss when they lose to a relatively unknown opponent

    Which was a full 3 years before the Broner fight. What? Did you miss him stopping Ortiz 1 1/2 years before that? That was a pretty notable accomplishment.

    A boxer will have a fan base if they have heart, talent & are active...even if they lose. Unfortunately boxing has lost some fans but i believe ppv stars aren't dying. Some of my fave fighters suffered 1 sided defeats but I still supported them (KT, Morales & Beyer)

    Everybody knew who Maidana was when Broner fought him.

    He had only two fights after the Broner win, for Gods' sake.

    People turned on Paul Williams after Sergio KO'd him. People turned on Donaire after Rigondeaux spanked him. Doesn't take much for a boxing fan to lose all care and pledge allegiance elsewhere these days.
