First one and most obvious one to me is Marcos Maidana. The guy throws hooks like he's an old woman with a handbag, but still yields power. Some questions: Who else has this strange but useful gift? Is power something you can train to significantly increase, or is it to a large extent genetic/down to the individual? Feel free to name old or current fighters, post videos etc...
Not necessarily. A lot of hard-hitting fighters are technically correct, and that is primarily where their power lies. All I'm saying is that some fighters, i.e. Maidana seem to force their punches at times, but still have hurtful power.
Naseem Hamed springs to mind. I believe power is something you can train because muscle is a factor when it comes to power, but the most important thing is the timing, speed and balance when you throw the punch. Naseem Hamed for instance looked of balance everytime but somehow he would throw this huge punch out of nowhere because his legs are huge and they help him to be in balance all the time + the speed he posessed.
