    nt of morons.

I don't know what Roy was thinking. Did he seriously believe he was 'back'? I'm inclined to be angry with him for wasting everybodies time. Reflecting upon his comments prior to the fight, he didn't really seem to have the self belief of someone who thought they cold pull a fight like this off. His attitude was blaze and non-chelont. But dispite that I commend him for fighting with heart even though he was shot and outmatched. I think the whole sordid affair shows how matching fighters up on reputation and marketability is a mojor problem in boxing these days; Jones had no business in there as a Calzaghe opponent. At this juncture of his career Calzaghe is seeking to establish himself and he's not going to do that beating up washed up has beens. Jones had nothing to to reccomed himself as a formidable opponent for Joe yet this fight gets hyped as a superfight. All the bull**** about Jones winding back the clock was an insult to intelligent boxing fans. Boxers never wind back the clock. Once you're shot youre shot. That's an unfortunate and immutable fact. I don't know how to prevent it, given that boxing is part of the entertainment industry, but contenders should have to at least do something to earn their place in world title fight. Jones had done less than nothing to get a shot at the linear light heavyweight champ. People could only hype his chances, his supposed return to form, based on a lacluster win over a shot junior middle weight. He had no right even being considered a top 10 contender. Manny Paq's confrontation with Hoya continues the trend of bull**** matchups designed to sell tickets to dumbshits more than offer decent fights. I know it's naive given the facts that boxing is driven by money and sanctioning is worse than a joke, but fights like this simply should not be allowed to happen. Just yet another symptom of how boxing has become a circus for the amusement of plebs.

    Rant over.

he knew who wasnt his prime self but he felt that he could still be an elite fighter. he felt good in training, but he was proved wrong in the ring. that doesnt sound like pretending, that sounds like a man who wanted to give it another shot

Somebody said each guy made like $18 million for the fight. Don't know if that's true or not, but Roy got paid a lot of money to fight last night.

If Pac makes it intersting. Because we all know DLH will be trying to act all Mexican and lying and stuff. Pacs gonna have to make it interesting. Wouldnt surprise me if Roach is the star of 24/7

He should have to earn another shot. If he's back great, let him prove it before sucking it up in a mega fight.

Nice rant and I see where you're coming from but I enjoyed it so I'm not complaining too much. I was really looking forward to it, as I am to Oscar Pac, bull**** match up or not, sorry.

you have a point, because beating tito didnt prove he was ready for joe. but jones brings in lots of money and this fight was right on time for both men, so it happened this way

Yeah I might have went a little too far with the DLH PAC thing. I'm kind of looking forward to it as well. I do think Hoya is a wanker for making the fight. But intrguing none the less.
