Fighters purses for tonights card in Vegas

    According to ESPN.com

    Here you go: Marquez ($1 million), Diaz ($540,000),
    Daniel Jacobs ($200,000), Dmitry Pirog ($50,000),
    Robert Guerrero ($75,000), Joel Casamayor ($50,000),
    Linares ($30,000), Juarez ($45,000),
    Sakio Bika ($18,000), Jean Paul Mendy ($12,000).

    Keep in mind these are the official purses as per the Nevada bout agreementsbut it is common for other revenue to be paid through other streams.

    Thats $2million on purses. Add in a few other bits and pieces your looking at $2,500,000 in total for GBP. HBO pick up the majority of the advertising costs. If Goldenboy pick 50% of the PPV revenue which I think is the norm they only need to sell 40,000 ppvs to make a profit. You would expect this PPV to do 200,000 buys at a minimum.

    After tax and paying his trainer, manager and so on Diaz will end up with $200,000 at best.

    I'm sure I read from Dan Rafael that 100,000 buys were needed to breakeven. I wonder what % JMM and Diaz get from the PPVs, suprised that Jacobs is getting 4 times as much as Pirog.

    Pretty sad isn't it? Didn't he have a chance for a box-off against Green to have the right to replace JT in the Super Six? His management are awful.

    Can anyone explain why Pirog is getting 1/4 of what Jacobs is getting? I thought this fight went to purse bid...

    it didn't go to purse bid. goldenboy will of made the offer to Pirog's team, and they will have accepted.

    Bit surprised they accepted $50k. Although they probably got European TV rights as well if that's the case.

    Bika said no to $250,000 against Mundine 2 years ago for the WBA SMW title...he wanted twice that amount :-(

    Bika's cannot be correct, $18K? This guy would hammer most of the European fighters at this weight.

    Hmm.... maybe it was the % that was the problem?

    Bika ought to have been willing to fight Mundine for next to nothing, given that he'd win handily.
