Typically when a fighter gets hit flush to the liver they take a 10 count. The mind says go on, but the body is in too much pain. I can recall Gatti taking a flush liver shot against Micky Ward in round nine. He took a knee and then got back up and continued to fight on. I also remember Pacquiao hitting Morales with a left to the body and it doubled Morales over pretty bad, but he managed to stay on his feet and ride out the punch. Cant say for sure if it was a shot directly to the liver due to the camera angle.
The first time I saw Antonio Margarito he fought Alfred Ankamah, who was either 14-0 or 14-2; in either case all 14 were by knockout. Ankamah hit Margarito with a liver shot and dropped him and I thought that the fight was over but Margarito got up and won by knockout a round later.
thats why for my big matches i was always hammered,,,, the liver doesnt even react when it gets hit with a punch when its soiled in whiskey,,,
That bell at the end of Rd1 really saved Maidana. If he got hit 30 seconds earlier he would have been stopped. Who knows what trajectory both their careers would have taken then.
I think you never had get a proper one. I for example had read up how " ineffective " are solar plexus strikes. Guy who had get from me this properly done didn't had moved more than 30 seconds after this and therefore might be considered as ***** stuff. I do not **** on lad, **** happens and this is called just properly landed.
