Yes, curse Murdoch and co for believing a guy who was shot and said "Yeah, that's the guy that shot me" might have been telling the truth.

I know. I think the old "Swear on my nan's grave" has him convinced everytime.

If both sides swear on their Nan's grave, then there can be no decision, so yes, you walk IMO. And indeed that remark of yours pretty much was the case for and against Carter. ;)

My favorite fighter, Carlos Monzon, was, in his personal life a complete monster. He was able to control himself in the ring, he was so cold and calculating, and was actually a relatively clean fighter, inasfar as sportsmanship was concerned. For example, he stepped back at one point in his fight with Tony Licata, when Tony stumbled against the ropes and lost his balance for a second, and actually touched gloves before resuming the fight. So patient and calculating in the ring, and an out of control monster out of the ring. He made other bad boys like Duran seem harmless by comparison. I've never thought that an athlete should be judged by how he leads his life outside of his sport, and although he was a total ******* outside of the ring, Monzon was, in my opinion, among the very best of the elite class of boxing.

The first Monzon fight I saw was Valez II on Superfights with the fight doctor. I was later surprised to learn what a terrible person he was. You just don't expect it by the way he looked and fought.

Atlas said a lot, a biography on Tyson, little bits of reports here and there, stuff like that.

I am sorry but even if Sullivan had been a model of modern political corectness he would still have been a verry flawed man.

More boxers are *******s than not, unfortunately. Beating up your wife seems to be the standard. Pulling a Leonard smile on your face and being charismatic doesn't stop your from being a *******.
