Who are some fighters that were really good in their respective division but don't look that good?

For me personally I would have to say Carlos Monzon. I honestly hate watching his fights, he looks incredibly one dimensional and I have no idea how he became as great as he did. Maybe I'm just watching bad matchups.

    Bernard Hopkins.

    Like watching paint dry.

I think his style is the most boring I have ever seen. I actually think it hurts his all time Rankings.

Monzon had great reach and knew how to fight while exploiting that reach, you have to get past his long jabs and power punches to land yours that`s what happened when Frazier fought Foreman.

Monzon is the first name that comes to my mind ,functionally very effective ,but definitely not aesthetically so!

Henry Akinwande and Hugo Corro come to mind. one two and hold for Henry and he'd tie up anyone with those long arms of his.

Corro was even worse--he was a 1 and hold. Man, that Corro could sure tie an opponent up. But that punch and hold style is so tough to penetrate because of the small windows to hit those guys. I really do not think I ever saw Hugo Corro trade with an opponent. Ever.

Wlad is an obvious pick, although I'm not sure you can blame him too much for being matched against people that where way out of their depth. Baldomir went on a 13/14 fight win streak adding a few names to his resume during it

    Akinwande is a great pick.

Generally didn't enjoy watching Monzon, post-prime Hopkins, Lara, or Foreman.

I've always liked watching Lara, I know he uses his legs a bit excessively, but I generally enjoy watching fighters fight with success of the back foot, he's had some nice fights with Williams, Canelo and Angulo. Rigondeaux is probably another Cuban that has had some pretty uninspiring performances, but I enjoy watching him. As a technician he's one of the best to ever to it

Hopkins was awful to watch a lot of the time. Great fighter but lot of stinkers.

Wlad. Another great fighter but would have an exciting fight and follow it up with 2-3 straight clunkers.

Mayweather would face guys he had a natural stylistic advantage over which didn't bode for fun matches when his game was defense.

Also Valuev....dude was 9ft tall....you wanted to see him crush opponents but he had zero snap on his punches and jabbed his way to wins.
