In theit first fight, Leonard changed tactics and began brawling and Hearns got hurt badly.

You didn't specify Middleweight and above until late in your post. I was going with your initial statement, which on its face was spurious.

But, since we are talking 147, Leonard took Hearns shots, turned brawler, and badly hurt Hearns. Hearns was forced to get on his bycyle, and Leonard eventually hunted him down.

This destroys your post, but I'm sure you'll try to argue something spurious to save face.

Not at all, Hearns lost, in a brawl.

But I didn't call Hearns a brawler, I called him an anti brawler.
And I also already said that the best way to beat Hearns is to get him to brawl, but it's also the most dangerous.

Whew!! anybody who can brawl with Fulmer is rough!! A footnote;, Tigers manager should have been shot for putting him in with Bob Foster at 175, he literally was made for Bob to stop.

Even tho he dropped some fights he should have won due to effort, I think James Toney deserves a mention in this thread. His work against Iran Barkeley is probably the greatest performance I've ever seen in terms of neutralizing a pure brawler

Fullmer looked scary at times. It's like he literally wanted to kill you the way he could brawl. I said a couple yrs ago that Fullmer is one guy I wouldnt want to fight lol

Bob, just watch Fullmer-Paret if you want to see scary. You knew that Gene would be the likely winner,....but not as brutally as that!! GF was more than just a "crude slugger", as I used to hear him described....he was a resourceful, effective brute who raised dirty fighting to a new level...and had that "alternative" style...that "Plan B" style that he used vs Basilio twice and Tiger in that draw that they had. That Plan B style made him more versatile than his rival Basilio. Fullmer was courageous too,...case in point is that 15 round defense vs Florentino Fernandez...fighting with a broken left elbow...unable to use that left at all...and vs such a dangerous puncher like Fernandez....and has anybody a clue as to who really won Fullmer-Giardello? A thread worthy topic I think... All this about Fullmer is to illustrate how unbelievably strong Dlck Tiger was...certainly more so than even Fullmer!!

Saensak Muangsurin was ridiculous at his short peak.
Just raw strength and power, and lots of experience. No aesthetics.

Maybe the strongest Boxer I've seen p4p. Easily top 5.

But bowe actually did beat evander in a brawl. They traded everything, but yeah, for his size evander was incredible i would want no part of him in a street fight(i guy like him), he is the type of guy that even if you stun hin with a good punch he will comeback to kick your ass, so better you get ready to take not only for punching

Eduardo Lausse hasn't been mentioned much here - maybe, rightly so - but I think it takes the elites of the elite to beat him in a war. Fullmer, Jones and Gavilán couldn't pull it off, I think it'd take the likes of LaMotta, Tiger, Greb, Ketchel ect. to beat him.

It is hard to imagine any middleweight getting the better of Hagler in a brawl.

    I'd pick Fitzsimmons over him.
