I'll give a 'shout out' to Jimmy Young. In his 'wheelhouse' of prime he was 210+ish and had semi-male boobs. Yes, I know the power wasn't there but, as my late friend said: "He didn't hit particularly hard but he hit hard enough to stop the big power boys in their tracks! If not everyone would have walked right through him!"

He could have gotten the nod against Ali and Norton. He beat Foreman and if he had a few more rounds maybe could have stopped him. I don't think he ever got the credit he deserved.

Fabrice Tiozzo. He had a bird chest but was as strong as an oxe

Kelly Pavlik is another guy who looks pretty average body wise but can really hit like a mule.

One of the fascinating things about boxing is just how looks and body types don't define a fighters abilities at all. Tyson Fury really looked like magic at times against Wilder. It's almost comical to see how a guy with a dad body can box like that at all, let alone against arguably the hardest puncher p4p.

Juan Baby Bull Diaz was a work horse. His punch out was crazy and not an ab to be seen.

Ray Mercer. He had a very strong, wide back but from the front he was mostly blocky and holding lots of water. Didn't stop him throwing a huge amount of punches vs Bert Cooper. That night they had the punch outputs of light heavies.

Not that he was a serious contender or anything, but Butterbean's "bread and butter" (pun intended) was to wow his fans with his unexpected athleticism. I acknowledge that the originator of this post may not have intended to introduce Butterbean into this thread, but the shoe fits, I think.

Last night was honestly my first time seeing Andy Ruiz fight and he surprised me. Didn’t expect him to be fast handed despite looking like a Pillsbury Dough Boy.

Ruben Olivares - even well-trained he had absolutely no muscle tone and sometimes even looked paunchy. How deceiving.

Joe Hipp met that criteria to some degree (USA Tuesday Night Fights).

Yep. I've said before that Butterbean has the fastest hands I've ever seen "pound for pound".
