I saw a thread on here about fighters that grow on you and that got me thinking...
What about fighters that fell from your grace? Fighters that you you were a fan of but for some reason or another now do not like or even despise???

For me the obvious example would be Margarito, I was one of the few Puerto Ricans who actually said he could beat Miguel before their first fight and after the fight I was praising him on his heart and his relentless attacks... cut to the mosely fight and with everything that happened it just left a bad taste in my mouth

So what fighters out there did you hold in high regards and what caused them to make you think differently?

Calzaghe, i always rooted for him, that was until he retired

I felt like he was stil capable of accomplishing much more, now ive slowly realised what a fraud he was

I agree about Margarito. Cheered for him in the first Cotto bout but it was a huge letdown to find out that he/his coach had tempered with the gloves.

Another letdown was Arthur Abraham and the WAY he lost in his S6 fights against Dirrel, Froch and Ward. He showed no desire to try explain what went wrong and just said "it didn't work out". I came to the conclusion that he simply has made enough money up to now and isn't really into boxing anymore, as a passion. I hope he can grab the belt against Stieglitz but he might call it quits soon, considering that he has made good money in his career and doesn't seem to have the passion to give it all anymore.

I've always been a die-hard fan. Once I'm in your corner, I never leave. I saw Foreman on TV in '68, waving that little flag, and I was hooked.

Tyson, Trinidad, Tua, Foreman, I guess it's that "I'm coming after you no matter what" mentality that I really love. I used to love seeing Trinidad get knocked down, then get up pissed-off, and ready to hit low, whatever it takes!

    Margarito
calzaghe lost all respect for him when he stepped in the ring with jones and hopkins when they were way past their best
Khan - loved him early on seemed like such an exciting prospect them believed his own **** and started getting knocked out

Amir Khan. Followed his career from the Olympics and always rooted for him but not now. Always blames someone else for defeats and thinks hes bigger than what he is. Arrogant *****.

Manny Pacquiao when he first came around I thought he was going to be great, but after flat out refuseing to fight Floyd Mayweather. Which on it's own is not enought o ganner my dilikeing of him. What made "No RisK" fall from my grace was just that. He went on to fight guys like Clotty, Margarito, an old Mosley a beatenHatton and an over ratted Cotto. Do you really think he would have gotten the ring with the Mosley who beat Margarito? Marquez at 144 if he didn't struggle with Mayweather at that weight or Bradley if he had better punching power? There is of course mulnulpiting the rules so he could win two championships. There is no 150 and 145 Lbs divisions in boxing. Name me one other champion at 145 and 150?

    None

My mind doesn't change much, and I'm very picky about who makes my list of fighters I back.

Amir in recent memory though. I thought he could become something special until he went life and death with Rene

It's not a thing of winning or losing, I consider myself a pretty loyal fan but when a fighter does things that go directly against what u believer to be right then u should no longer back them, that's just my opinion
