He does have very decent balance for his size.

A much better quality than his overrated jab.

My pick would be Mike Tyson. His feet were rooted into the canvas. Great balance and footwork.

    Tito Trinidad as well.

Orlando Canizales and Yuri Arbachakov should also be mentioned.

Depends on how you define balance.

There are those who have great balance as a function of their technique. They are quite a few, and many of the great technical fighters have already been mentioned here (not so sure about Luis, though, considering the number of flash KD:s he suffered - and definitely not Hopkins, who constantly overbalances when throwing his right lead).

But, then there's those whose balance was just as much a function of their natural ability. Ali, Nunn, Pac and RJJ are some of the usual suspects here. And Naseem had perhaps the most natural ability in this aspect of any fighter I've seen, but it kind of gets swallowed up by his abysmally bad form. His execution was anything but balanced, but his reflexes, speed and natural sense of balance meant that he quickly could find his balance again and that few really could punish his lapses.

Then there are the rare few that ranks highly in both categories. Whitaker and probably Pep come to mind. As does Ali, actually, who at times showed impressive fundamentals in his footwork to go with his off the charts natural ability.

I'll agree with Joe Louis and throw Alexis Arguello and Salvador Sanchez into the mix.
