I guess I have two versions of Mike in my head, the pre-douglas mike tyson and the post-douglas one.

Well. But then you should now. That Tyson fired Rooney after the Spinks fight.

Then Rooney never was in Tyson's corner again. Same for Bill Cayton.

    Tyson-Rooney immediately comes to mind.

Don King filled Tyson's head with Afrocentric racist garbage, got him to ditch Rooney and the rest of his team, and derailed what could have been the greatest heavyweight career of all time.

Yea, I guess that was maybe a year or two before the douglas fight. But how many trainers did he go through between getting rid of Rooney up until his loss to douglas?

:good Exactly. But still up to Tyson if he Rooney should stay or go. So still Tyson's mistake.

Yeah but still the question here is fighters who have no loyalty.
No loyalty to the man who molled and shaped him. And the trainer who was the best for him and gave everthing for Tyson.

Tyson's mistake and fault and lack of loyalty..
