So are there any fighters that lost a fight but made you realise how good they actually were, or made you a fan of them??
Leonard in Montreal. Ali in FOTC. Eubank Vs Carl Thompson. Floyd versus reading. La Motta in the Valentine's Day Massacre. Hearns Vs Leonard. Benitez versus Leonard. Duran Vs Hagler. Charles Vs Marciano.
Bernard Hopkins Vs. Joe Calzaghe Tony Tucker Vs. Mike Tyson Evander Holyfield Vs. Riddick Bowe 1 Radivoje Kalajdžić Vs. Artur Beterbiev..........
Benitez vs. Leonard In an odd way, Frazier vs. Foreman — Joe was like Michael Myers or Jason Vorhees … you could put them down but you couldn’t keep them there Sean O’Grady vs. Jim “Glasgow Kiss” Watt
Became a fan of Alberto Davila after seeing his losing effort against Lupe Pintor in their second fight. Davila looked like boxing wizard in the first 6 rounds, and then showed a lot of heart when Pintor was beating him in the late rounds. That fight made me appreciate Davila more with his skills and grit.
Wilder vs Fury Frazier vs Ali (one of the latter’s best performances in the 70s despite visible rust, and clearly losing a step or two.
That’s one of the bravest things I have ever seen in boxing. Frazier had no hope of winning but refused to stay down. It was nuts. What a man. Also Foreman taking almost 20 shots in a row and not going down against Holyfield. Tough. Henry Cooper, every time he lost went out on his shield.
