    I have the feeling....and I know I'll eat crow for this...but I think Vic Darchinyan might suprise people against Mijares....his defence seems a lot tighter and his punches faster since he got KTFO against Doniare.

    Not the 'greatest' example ;). Certainly went well in trilogies and rematches, however never really adjusted his game-plan a great deal. Against Frazier he certainly got up on his toes and used the distance more, and it showed in the second fight. But the third fight was much like the first. Against Norton, it wasn't so much his game-plan as it was his shape, and the fact that he didn't endure a broken jaw for the majority of the fight. Norton would always give Ali fits, even in his prime, though to a lesser extent of course. Spinks was simply shape and mental application as well.

    Nonetheless, he did seem to adapt very well as his career progressed and his physical assets diminished. He adapted his style to suit his body, rather than learning from losses.
