I can imagine that many that just has gotten into boxing often are inspired by exciting fighters like Ali and RJJ, but, of course, mimicking those guys in the gym will only equal pain. So which fighters and fights would you show young beginners as good examples of how it should be done? On the top off my head, Toney and old versions of Moore, Duran and Hopkins pops to mind as fighters. Perhaps Hagler as well. What do you think? Don't be shy in ranking the best examples. And what specific fights would you show?

Arguello. Yes, he could be outboxed, but his style was pretty textbook and he was persistant and his punches completely beautiful. Mike McCallum?
Good choice. Definitely a style to model yourself on from a technical level. The young Ali/Jones clones down every local gym are mostly embarrassing. They seem to copy the footwork but not actually land any decent shots (or throw any). :huh
The funniest thing you will see is two begginers trying to infight. I remember watching -from about three feet away- a guy take a little step back "to make room for a punch" (So far so good) and then smash his man right in the face with his elbow He was trying a "chopping right" apparently
