Beat me to it Tommy, I was about to say; Neon Leon was exceptionally lucky to be given the opportunity to challenge Shot Ali for the titles.

mctigue. not only did he not deserve a shot at the title but barely won a round in getting a robbery over the uber limited siki. then he refused to defend it against anyone who earned a shot and chose to defend against 18 yr old school boy stribling. mctigue lost every round and had his handpicked ref protect his title.you might also say mccoy, although he did make the most of his shot at the champ. once he won the title he made dismal showing as a champ and refused to defend the championship against anyone of note in decision matches.

Bruce Curry was utterly shot when he stunningly grabbed the WBC LWW Title from Leroy Haley with Pryor and Mancini providing color commentary from ringside. Bruce actually went on to successfully defend that belt twice, including a second time over Haley. (Leroy fought five different opponents two times. Only Bruce beat him in both bouts.) Sheer fanatical conditioning is what revived his career.
