What fighter or fighters did you think were going to turn out to be total duds but actually turned out better than you expected. For me it's Andre Ward. When he first went pro I was not the least bit impressed and I thought he would lose to soe bum in his first 10 fights. Not only is he still undefeated but he actually beat a decent name in edision miranda. I'm sure he won't go on to be a hall of famer but he is still a ton better than I thought he'd be.
John Ruiz, even though he isn't a fan friendly fighter he made it a long way and has a better resume than most heavyweights out there. I remember the first time I saw him entering the ring against Holyfield me and my stepfather were talking aBOUT how he was probably a bum that Don king gave 20 bucks to so that he would fight Holyfield.
Martin Rogan every time he fights I don't think he has a hope in hell but every time he fights he just finds a way to win obviously barring Sexton but again he looked no where in the fight and did come back to win it, just a pity the guy had a heart, still can't believe the fight wasn't stopped...he did Sexton a HUGE favour not seriously hurting the guy. Maybe not the greatest fighter in a world but still surprised at his ability to just get the W.
Pacquiao- I didn't give him much chance against marco antonio barrera in 2003. I thought he was gonna get knockout. Juan Manuel Lopez- He surprise the hell out of me when he knockout deleon. Especially when i saw deleon landed some good shots. He took it well and then ktfo deleon.
