Linares had a good run and got to be champ. But the fight with Marco kinda f'ed him up a bit. Especially his aggression.

Before Canelo, Oscar's "golden boy" was Vicious Victor Ortiz, meant to take Golden Boy Promotions to new heights (ala Canelo). Maidana had other plans for Victor, and ultimately Ortiz mentally crumbled after that. He was ok after losing to Maidana but Josesito and Collazo put the nail in the coffin.
Speaking of Maidana, he could've done even more if he didn't decide to cash out post-Floyd. We saw him improve greatly between those fights.

Dmitry Pirog. A GGG cross with a Sergio Martinez. Was super talented.

Jorge Linares. Though a very good career his resume doesn't do his talent justice. Well past it now though.

Just the same topic, we were discussing wasted talent, and Bojado came up.

He also said that Jo Jo is one of the best fighters he's sparred, that he is incredibly skilled and naturally talented but lacks discipline.

He doesn't want it. A lot of people thought it was Floyd but in reality, Tank Davis is a cherry picker.

He should sign with Oscar anyway. They have a lot in common.
