Fighters that would have ripped through Mayweather's 43-0

The super young Duran from 130 pounds might struggle with Genaro/Diego and the Duran of 154 would struggle with Oscar/Cotto.

 

I love Oscar, but by 2007 he was either very shopworn or semi-shot, depending on your point of view. Cotto was the same way.

The Duran of the Davey Moore fight beats both 2007 Oscar and 2012 Cotto. 2002 or 2003 Oscar at 154 would give him hell and stands a good chance of beating Duran and would beat Floyd though.

 

So it's the Roberto Duran from specific fights that he dominated in? Rather than just Roberto Duran in total at those weights, the good and the bad. It's easier to pick one fight he was in per weight and to say THAT Duran would win.

How about if this thread was fair:

The fighter has to begin career in question at 130 pounds.

And the fighter in question ages like a normal human being. Match his career by year along Floyd's opposition faced.

Meaning, 16 years after they could beat Genaro Hernandez, they could beat Miguel Cotto.

That would be fair. Find me one who meats this standard and I will give you praise.

 

He was at 154 for a total of 4 fights; Benitez, who he got outboxed by; Cuevas, who he stopped quickly; Moore, who he trashed; and Hearns, who he got ravaged by.

Cotto is a good fighter, but he couldn't outbox or starch Roberto at 154 no matter what version is in front of him, and that 2007 DLH was not a particularly dangerous opponent either.

De La Hoya would have beaten Duran at 154 in a close decision.

 

Duran weighed in at 155 for that one, so I didn't count it, but given Laing weighed 149.5, I guess its fair to count it as a Junior Middleweight bout.

 

They aren't forgetting anything. They fought twice, first time, mosely wasnt on anything. In the second fight where alot of people thought DLH edged, Mosley was on the cream an the clear but didnt **** hot.

 

I'd say H2h in their primes I'd pick Oscar, but as far as who had the better career, I'd give the edge to Mayweather. I also think a prime SSM at 135 would beat Mayweather.

Duran at 147 would be an interesting matchup with Floyd and I think Floyd would take it. The lower his weight goes though, the more likely Duran is to win and at lightweight I think Duran KOs Mayweather.

The power and speed Duran had at leightweight was the kind of 1 sec, covering 7 feet of distance, left hooks that SRR would throw at WW

A definite that people say and would be interesting to watch because I feel like it is pretty even with Tommy having a slight advantage would be Hearns vs Mayweather. Hearns at WW had incredible power, speed and a stiff quick jab

 

The Duran of the Moore fight would definately beat the Oscar Mayweather fought, without a doubt, in fact it would be a masacre. As to the 2002-003 version, I think it would be a great, great fight, but I'd still give the end to Duran if he could make it an inside fight. This version of Oscar beats Floyd at 154. And Duran beats any version of Cotto that ever stepped in the ring.

 

I certainly think the Duran of Montreal who beat SRL would beat Mayweather at 147 I don't think there's much doubt about that.
