Let me see, Archie Moore a natural 160 pound 40 year old knocked club fighter 180 pound Rocky Marciano down with one punch. Ted Lowry a 160-170 pound journeyman fighter with limited punching power beat the tar out of Marciano and could of knocked out him when ever he chose too. So logic would dictate better 160 pound fighters like Roy Jones Jr and any other half way decent 160 pound fighter could stop Marciano. Any heavyweight contender from 1970 tills this day would knock Marciano out in 1 round. From David Tua, Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Ron Lyle, Ken Norton, Riddick Bowe, Lennoxx Lewis, Tommy Morrison, Razor Ruddock, Ike Ibeabuchi, to even guys like Charles Martin would destroy 180 pound club fighter Rocky Marciano. The only people who think differently are the biased Marciano fanboys who still hero worship him for a clearly obvious reason.

Marciano didn't beat anyone like Foreman but by the same token Ali never beat anyone like Wladimir Klitschko and Foreman never beat anyone like Anthony Joshua. Yet both guy
Why is it more silly to pick Marciano over Foreman than Foreman over Joshua?

Guys like JohnThomas1 like to claim that over 200 pounds everything is level powerwise but does anyone really think Ali and Jimmy Young hit harder than Marciano? Yet they both dropped Foreman.

If they could hurt Foreman what would AJ do?

In fact if 160 pound light punching Ted Lowry could almost knock Marciano out and had to hold back to avoid stopping him. I would say guys like Julian Jackson could knock out Marciano out as well. This thread would be better if it was called what modern fighter over 160 pounds who had any skill couldn't stop Marciano.

Both guys were at least 6-2, at least 230 pounds and possessed 82" reaches. In other words, exact facsimiles of Marciano.

And Foreman dominated Qawi. That fight is the definition of the larger, more endowed athlete giving a summary beatdown of the pipsqueak. It wasn't in doubt for one second. Why Smallists continue to hoist it as proof of their cause is beyond me. It was a one-sided behind-the-barn @sswhuppin'.

Foreman Qawi the perfect example of modern training gone wrong.

I will say Manny Pac could knock out Marciano. You know because size doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is skilled which of course Marciano had none. But if the 5'10 180 pound no talent joke Rocky Marciano could beat people like Lennox Lewis, George Foreman, Rddick Bowe, Mike Tyson, even though he is at least 40 pounds lighter than and at least 5 inches shorter than these guys besides Tyson. Then Manny Pac could knock out Marciano. PacMan by 1st round KO.

I would think the Peralta fights would make a much better case for the smallists

Why would you think that? The press were unanimous that Foreman had won a "lop-sided win"
9-1 7-3.5-4 Judges scores only one was close and both the AP and the API gave it as a convincing win for Foreman.
The AP scored it 6-2-2 The API 9-1.

The reaction from the crowd was because George hadn't stopped Peralta, totally irrational considering Foreman was a 17 fight novice facing a 90 fight cagey veteran who, in over a hundred fights was only stopped 3 times, one of which was on a cut ,one at light heavy, by big puncher Mauro Mina, and one by Foreman himself in the rematch! Peralta was 197lbs for the 1st fight ,10lbs more than Marciano usually carried and he was a very crafty defensive fighter who weathered the punchers of bombers like Lyle,Bonavena ,and Urtain without even being floored let alone stopped!
The similarities between Peralta and Marciano end after taking into account both had 2 arms and legs!
    1st Peralta fight
"A ringside poll of the press had it lopsided for Foreman.
    2nd Peralta fight.
    • "Peralta suffered a cut over his left eye in the third round.
    • Foreman staggered Peralta with two left hooks in the seventh round.
    • Foreman never dropped Peralta to the canvas, but referee Elmer Costa gave him an eight-count after he lay helplessly against the ropes late in the tenth round. After Foreman blasted Peralta into the ropes again, Costa stopped the fight."

He’s a great man with a heart of gold.

But any thing larger than an ant, forget it. He gets knocked out.

Qawi wasn’t even in the same galaxy as far as power stamina chin as Marciano and if that little” pipsqueek”could last that long and be competitive with a similar style (style is key here) it’s not unfathmable that Marciano would make a match of it. That being said I’m not saying he would win but I wouldn’t bet for or against him. Rachman also Mcall couldn’t hold Marciano’s jock strap either.

    Foreman was 39 years old.
Wonder how a 39years old Rocky would do?
George ,a year earlier was coming back from 10 years of retirement. You want to use that version of Foreman to say Marciano beats him?
Marciano retired in1955,care to speculate how successful he would be had he come back 10years later in 1965?

Has nothing to do with age. Qawi was rather old to at the time I believe. It’s all about style and Qawi had a similar style to that of Marciano. Slightly different as he copied some Joe Frazier as well. This is all speculation. You can speculate the height and weight thing all you want but it never stopped Marciano. Hard to gauge Rocky in a fight w foreman or Tyson because he never went against a raw power killer like the two.
