Sanders sure throws a dart right down the pipe. Wladimir had probably the best straight right hand I've seen for a heavyweight.

Another guy seldom mentioned around here is Choi. That guy had a right hand down the pipe I thought anyway, was straighter and better delivered than Arguello's.

Louis, Holyfield , JCC, Duran, Tyson, SRR, SRL, McCallum, McClellan, Tony Ayala Jr, Donald Curry, Alex Ramos, Bobby Czyz, Davey Moore, Virgil Hill

These off the top of my head are great textbook boxers...hands up beautiful jabs, rights, uppercuts, body just complete 2 handed technicians

Yeah he just might have been.
It doesn't get any better than either Louis or peak Tyson.

Mike Sharp as a razor. Very good power but he didn't have that clubbing power like George Foreman. it was his speed and accuracy that allowed him to switch Tony tubbs lights off with one shot. Or the right hand that decked holmes. Speed, accuracyand timing.

Holyfields punch selection and timing was the best I've ever seen on a heavyweight even if his power was "only" good and not great. The right hands that got both foreman, Qawi and Tyson on ***** street were very similar shots that were incredibly timed.
He had great rythm and timing like a dancer, unlike most HWs he had the coordination of a lightweight.

Morrison had nice punches also, definitely not lacking in offensive variety and skills

For other weight classes I would say JM Marquez, finito Lopez, James toney, Tommy hearns
    Morales had great straight shots.

This sport we love is pretty damn brutal. Sometimes we think the KO blow is picture perfect because of the way the falling man hits the deck. Sad but true.

He's been mentioned but Ricardo Lopez.

Juan Manuel Marquez also springs to mind.

    • If Ingo landed a, totally, sunday 'bingo' IMO you were gone, or close to it. Granted he had had his weak points, but, for some unworldly reason, he had some 'God-given' talent to put you on ***** street with that shot.

Well put, and all too true; there are different sorts of KOs. Some are watching the guy drop, knowing the ref will count him out, but he'll come out of it OK ... others, when the fighter hits the canvas, you hope the ringside physician is on his way and the guy isn't carried out. The face-down KOs are the worst - the fighter makes no effort to protect himself as he falls, and it looks like someone dropped a sandbag off a building.

But we watch - and cheer and applaud - nonetheless.
