Fighters that you would like to see more of

    Personally it frustrates me when fighters with potential seem to go missing or fight at a really slow rate

    Gavin Rees has all the potential to be a fringe world level contender at lightweight and imo is probably at least as good as kevin Mitchell but since he lost his title his career has been stop start with the biggest highlight being a prizefighter win

    Tony Quigley I think the lad has great potential has decentish power and a good chin and if he were to fight at middleor even light middle could really make an impact as far as European level but since the Smith fight has gone missing.

    Brett Flournoy reached the prizefighter LMW final losing to Prince Arron ona close decision but looked impressive a slick boxer fighting above his weight. I thought that he might have been able to kick on from prizefighter but he hasnt fought since there is plenty of interesting matches to be made domestically at welterweight

    Joe Selkirk turned pro in 2008 but has only fought 4 times he is a Warren fighter and comes from the Rotunda gym where the Smith brothers and Bellew originated. A top amateur some claimed that Selkirk was the best of the lot but despite being with Warren has yet to really get his career going.


    Who would you like to see more of doemstically?

    id like to see more of all the top boys but that goes without saying , the olympians need to get out more for sure. john murray , like to see kevin come back

    Yep, they need to be much more busier at this stage of their development. Apparently the deal they've signed with Warren means he's not able to get them out more often.

    Emmanuel Steward protege from the Kronk who was Cotto's chief sparring partner for the Foreman fight and also sparred with Wlad ahead of the Chambers fight. Steward raves about him, typical Kronk fighter tall with a great jab and balance from what i have seen. Been a pro 2 and a half years though and only 7-0 (4ko's).

    I thought it was just a lack of TV coverage that stopped Warren from putting them on more shows? Now with Warren having a proper contract with Sky (and not a show-by-show basis), I can see them, hopefully, appearing more regularly - same goes for other fighters in his stable.

    Fighters I want to see more of are Cello Renda, Carl Frampton, Travis Dickinson, Martin Gethin, Rhys Roberts, Craig Watson plus plenty of others I have forgot about.

    I've heard because of their big signing on fees, he has to wait for these big shows that generate some chedder for him to pay what they're demanding. He can't stick them on a sunday afternoon show at York Hall to keep them active like Groves.

    The deals that they are on basically means that realistically there are only so many shows in a year that he can put on that will generate enough £££ to pay them.

    It kinda hit home when DeGale said he wouldn't take a paycut to fight Groves, when the offer was (allegedly) £50k.

    I'm not sure that it's really the right way to do business paying unproven lads shitloads, well in fact I'm sure it isn't. They ought to have been on 6x3's against tough opponents in front of two men and a dog, building toward 10x3 a year or so afterwards.

    Plus I wouldn't have them all on the same show.

    Another problem is that everyone is obsessed with titles - whether it be those silly masters titles (whatever the **** they are/mean), interalphabetty etc..... why not just take the right matches?

    I know that, but with the added revenue Sky provide they should hopefully be able to box on more shows. Warren last season had to put on big shows for Sky to take an interest, due to pretty much all their FFN slots being taken up by other promoters who had a deal with Sky. Now Warren has a deal again, he has a fair share over the amount of shows on Sky. This is further evidenced by the fact he has 4 shows on in the next two months. More money from Sky, more shows, more appearances for the Olympians...hopefully :good
