I used to be HUGE into boxing. Keeping a list of fighters to watch every single time, even the lower level guys like Felix Diaz when he became a pro and stuff.

A couple of years ago my attention started to shift towards MMA and really, I've just been crazy into that for so long and I'm really out of the loop with boxing. I'd watch Amir Khan and Alvarez or Pacquiao and Bradley for sure, but outside of GGG, Andre Ward, Tyson Fury, David Haye etc. I wouldn't actually know who to follow. Last time I was following it, Sergio Martinez was still killing it.

So any suggestions of guys who's fights I shouldn't miss? Whenever a Saturday comes and there's no MMA on, feels like the night is wasted. I used to ****ing love nights where I had a big fight on in boxing, maybe led up to with a Prizefighter in the UK or something.

So yeah. Which fighters are worth me making sure I don't miss a fight from. Want to reintroduce myself to the sport and keep all my bases covered in combat sports.

Wilder has looked as good as possible, vs a few underrated fighters.

Beterbiev gets a lot of hype due to his size and power, but don't climb on board. He can't throw a punch from the defensive posture to save his life. Someone with a solid jab, good footwork, and some defense will outclassed him, likely stop him if they can give and take.

Usyk is a future HOFer if he doesn't try to conquer 200+.

Lomachenko will LIKELY dominate 126-135, but he doesn't have Pacs speed or power off the front foot, so he won't translate into the superstar that Floyd and Manny became.

In the middle weights, 147-168, Spence, Vargas, Brook, Andrade, Lubin, Charlos, Kyrtov, Murata, Eubank Jr, DeGale, Jack, and Lefty Sanchez Ramirez are taking the reigns from May, PAC, and Martinez.

Roman Gonzalez is a small sob, but he's approaching Marciano's record and has some great fights looking forward.

Top 10 lb 4 lb list is

    GGG MW.
    Kovalev LHW
    Gonzalez SBW
    Ward LHW
    Lomachenko SFW
    Brook WW
    Porter WW
    Yeller CanYellerWeight
    Fury HW
    Potvetkin HW

I leave off p4pers like Wlad, PAC, May, Cotto because they're always one foot into retirement.

Good shouts on the Hws except Ortiz. He's probably 45. He's a 3X drug cheat, and it ain't F/N B.S. MELDONIUM....
And the division is being bequeathed by the Klitschko brothers.
Also...Crawford and Postol are both KOs waiting to happen.
Fukking Broner would Ktfo Bud, and Allakverdiev would outbox Postol.

Both matched up perfectly styles wise.

Cheers lads. Will have a look at them all.

    Out of the ones mentioned...

I watched Crawford make Ricky Burns a joke so **** him :D

I watched Kell Brook rise from the lower domestics.

I watched a couple of Willders, last probably being Audley Harrison.

    Seem all of Joshua's.

I watched Rigo Vs I think Willy Casey ages ago in Ireland. Incredible boxer, but a bit on the boring side at times.

Saunders I watched from the very beginnings. Last I saw was the very satisfying Eubank Jr fight.

Broner...just to see a Maidana repeat.

Outside of them, I've never watched the rest fight although have caught some names across the way. I'll hit boxingrec later and get a list and the upcoming fights together.

Any other names to add? I'm cool even watching some lower level names, although to get me refocused, probably the bigger names are best. I still watch a bit of the Smith brothers and Lee Selby as well.

Too many of the fighters recommended are pretty mediocre, and might not make you come back to boxing for good. Fury, Porter, Santa Cruz aren't great advertisements for boxing circa 2016.

Just watch every Lomachenko fight you can. His 6 pro fights, then as many Olympic, WSB, and would amateur championship fights as you can find. I had stopped watching boxing for a few years, then in the 2012 Olympics Loma brought me back. He's the most complete boxer we've seen in years. The other lesser-known great talent that should blow you away is Inoue. Those two guys are unreal to watch.

To be fair, if I'm watching mediocre guys that's cool. Like I'm excited for a Carl Frampton fight but stick him in with Rigo and he has no chance.

Looking at Loma, yeah I was like "The ****? I must have the wrong guy". I was only when I hit his wikipedia page that I realised he was one of the greatest amateurs of all time. For the record, they need a new name for this. Amateur wrestling and amateur boxing are amazing sports. Amateur boxers have an entire skillset some pro boxers can't accomplish. You'll see the list above anyways. Anyone you'd swear me off or is that alright to attempt to follow?

For the record, I'm not getting "into boxing". I'm getting BACK into boxing. So I still appreciate a guy like Rigo or Mayweather who fight boring as sin but fight with such skill and technique. I just fell out of it because I had a sport I preferred, but in recent times I'm watching kickboxing and BJJ so boxing is a sport I want to reintroduce myself to. This site is full of guys who say XYZ is "fake" and "not a champ" but although the **** where some fighter is fighting bums is why I fell out of boxing, I still will be crazy exited for say Saunders Vs Alvarez (is that the fight I heard?).

@Mirko guy (MMA mah****a! :D), I'll add anyone not current on my list that you mentioned tomorrow. Cheers.
