Fighters who are a"poor man's version" of other fighters

If frazier was a discount marciano, then why didnt he strugģle with bob foster like marciano did with old Charles and moore?

 

I wouldn’t say Frazier is a poor mans or discount anything!!! But to answer your question, Foster could not take a HW punch, and they could.

But no i dont think so. Marciano wasnt much bigger and he stopped moore. Same with patterson who turned pro at 168.


Neither moore nor charles had to take shots from 220lb ali or 205+ frazier. Im not sure there is any evidence to suggest they would do any better than foster did.


Charles and moore could kind of take a HW punch in 1950. A HW in 1950 is a good 15 lbs lighter on average than a 1970 HW

 

Frazier was more skilled then Rocky. Better on the inside, more accurate as well as better balance and notably better defence. The only think Rocky seems to have over him is a committed fan base.

 

When he was fighting a lot of people felt Castillo was a poor mans Chavez although that was also because he used to be Chavez sparring partner.
