Roger was a good fighter. Not the sturdiest fighter, but pretty skilled, and hard-hitting.

I like watching him school Vinny Pazienza.

I think some of you all are really missing the point in this thread. Some of you are naming world class champions and the point was to name lesser fighters who aren't among that elite group.

In Jin Chi is a forgotten man. Fun to watch. He was like an attacking zombie (only faster) when he fought.

    - just take the cotto fight for example, he was getting his ass completely handed to him, and could have stayed down when put down, but he kept trying all night.

    Howard Clarke
    - You could just see how much he wanted to beat Vargas, it was the most he trained for any fight i believe, and he truly thought he could win, when vargas would put him down you could see the fustration in Clarkes face, and he would get back up with determination, but he would be put down again, and again. Finally the ref stopped it but a part of me felt bad for Clarke and he earned my respect. It was just written on his face his dissapointment.

    Monte Barrett
    - This guy, lol.... has to be put down the most then anyone i can think of off hand, and yet STILL comes to bring it time in and time out barring a few exceptions. I cant help but root for him once he earned my respect by continuing to get up when fighting my boy Wlad, so outsized, so outclassed, in a manner the fighters in the lower division couldnt even DREAM of, yet still he gets up, until finally he is left broken on the mat with blood streaming from his face. And he comes to do it again and again, BUT, he is not beaten down to the point where he comes for a paycheck, he came as the opponent against Fields, and layed waste when he should have, where other fighters accept their role as gatekeeper and may have layed down. respect

I will pass on the usual ward, andrade, ect, ect.... i could write a book on my admiration for Andrade, not just the fighter but the man himself, but i will leave that for another time lol.

Nallege was a world champ so he might be too elite to be mentioned. Regardless, his posts and prognostications about the Mayweather/Pac fight give just a glimpse of his formidable ring intelligence back in the day.

    Ricky Hatton.

He could have just kept his '0' by fighting fights that he knew he had a good chance of winning but instead he went and tested himself against THE best, even moving up in weight to fight Mayweather. The man has balls.
