What fighters can you think of that one moment they were considered still on top or in their prime, and then BOOM, they were considered shot or damaged goods. IMO the ones that come to mind are:
    1. Riddick Bowe-After the 3rd Holyfield fight he was considered the best of the Heavyweights, and then he fought Golota twice and was considered damaged goods.
    2. Donald Curry-After Lloyd Honeyghan got through with him, he seemed to plummet real fast.
    3. Lloyd Honeyghan-Like the man he conquered, he seemed to fall apart after Marlon Starling got through with him.
Anymore guys you can think of?

Dempsey (although that night lasted a good few years)
    Leonard (see above)

Rodrigo Valdes Fought the great Monzon tooth and nail for two fights, then one vacant title against Bad Bennie Briscoe. Then defended against the very forgetable Hugo Corro, and lost by wide decision. Followed him all night and couldn`t let his hands go. Just lost it all that night... All i remember Gil Clancy saying that night was `he just can`t get off`...

Meldrick Taylor. His first fight with Chavez ruined him.

WRONG! Ali was SHOT! YES!! But he took a cut in pay, and saw less than 6 million for Holmes in 1980......... Ali was a hoax in 1980....... I'm so bummed....

AGAIN! Joe Walcott was caught with a flush uppercut by Marciano in the early going. However, Walcott still had his wits.... J.W.

..........Simply not true. The odds for Holmes-Ali opened at 3-1 and closed (predictably, as they tend to right before big fights) at 6 1/2 to 5 1/2, in favor of Holmes.

This was of course taken not only by virtue of the performances of the young, springy Holmes leading up to the fight, but also Ali's very noticeable degradation in skills dating nearly six years before that.

It was no surprise to anyone.

I honestly did not think a fighter could be so shot, so done as when Ali stepped in that ring to be beat down by Holmes that night. A very sad night for boxing.

I REALLY felt bad for Larry Holmes, he was put in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation by taking that fight.

And to think, Fenech had trouble sleeping at night for 16 years, until their third fight when he finally "beat" Nelson.
