Terry Norris was being scheduled for a De La Hoya mega fight until he got knocked out in a warm up match with unheralded Keith Mullings. After that he hardly won a fight.

William Guthrie was considered a threat by some to Roy Jones with a tough guy gangsta persona and impressive KO record until he put his title on the line against veteran blown up middleweight Reggie Johnson. He left the ring on a stretcher after that one and was stopped in his next fight with a used up Michael Nunn and never threatened again.

Surely Roy Jones is the best example of this ever? Because he burned off 20lbs of muscle after Ruiz, he was nothing like the same guy in the 1st Tarver fight, and once Tarver realized this he brutally exposed this in the 2nd fight.
