That’s management, not trainer. He got paid twice and probably overpaid off his name for most of his fights. He beat Broad, Bonecrusher, Tillis, Bugner, and Ribalta.

I’m not sure he really needed to be fighting for a living. He went big twice and was horribly overmatched. He was really a cruiserweight.

Zab Judah. I think if he dropped his dad and got with Roger Mayweather, he would have been a force.

I think Golota with different managment and access to a psychologist.

Golovkin more recently, even though hes easily HOF, if he got a good trainer in his early 20s and moved to the US sooner.

Just imagine Emmanuel Augustus having a real manager & proper trainer at the start of his pro career. Emmanuel never realized just how good he was & never took himself seriously. He clowned around & really embarrassed a lot of his opponents causing him to have many losses as the referees couldnt control him & lost their tempers. Take away the blatant robberies & home town decisions . give him a manager that cared & a trainer to make him control his emotions & use the incredible natural God Given boxing skills he had he;d have been a CHAMPION.
I heard someone ask him after a fight how long he'd need before fighting again he said " Just give me time to get there & I'll fight anyone anytime
Just imagine what could have been

It's not like he hadn't already beaten guys who held those alphabet titles. Hell, Marvis beat Bonecrusher the same year Smith won the WBA belt.

True, but you put Marvis in with an on point Tubbs, Tucker, Thomas, Witherspoon, Dokes, Page, and Coetzee he's losing. Maybe even Cooney.

He beat Tubbs and Witherspoon as amateurs, and he beat Smith as an amateur and as a pro. I'm not saying he is a dominant champ or anything like that. I'm just saying, he could've won a belt and lost it in his first defense like basically ALL of them did, too.

It's not like they were head and shoulders better than him, or that they were all that great themselves. He was their peer and, frankly, didn't have many losses against those guys who he did face, amateur or pro.

I would say vitali Klitschko had a bum **** style, just pure lean back throw armpunches, he mastered the style though, didn't need to be reevolved like wlad. If vitali sat down like wlad does on punches, I think we would have a heavy handed brother hood. Wlad was definitely the more dynamic/athletic but he was a carbon copy of Lennox Lewis except to tell you the truth LL did it better, more smoother more ebb and flow.

If wlad fought vitali wlad would jab all night afraid to pull the right hand. Vitali would outpint him. I think wlads style could've been learned earlier. So yeah he's cautious, not really a take risk kind of puncher whereas Lewis would knock people out. To his credit though, vitali was more of an animal, the way he kept going in the Lewis fight;!

When lamon Brewster beat wlad that was the coolest **** I ever saw. To this day I believe it was a combination of gassing himself and clogged pores from Vaseline.

Freddie Pendleton, Dennis Andries, Clifford Etienne, Cliff Couser (with Kevin Rooney :)). Olympic Silver Medalist Shawn O'Sullivan had a part-time amateur boxing trainer guide him early in his career because he was 'comfortable' with him. That likely wouldn't happen today.

Deontay Wilder,, I know that sounds strange for a guy who ko'ed practically everyone but if he'd have learned footwork, inside fighting, and just plain boxing basics......
