Fighters who could have had a better career

    But taking into account: bad decisions of judges against him and perhaps poor career management.
    I am especially interested in fighters who usually fought visitors throughout their career

    I'm going to start with a fighter that I've been reading about and discussing in some cases
    Ola Afolabi

    I think he could have easily finished with 2 victories in the first 3 fights against Huck, if he had won only one he would have changed his career, he would have been champion, and he could have chosen who to fight and make an acceptable amount of defenses,against him he was a fighter a little lazy at times.
    He is a forgotten warrior that could have left a bigger footprint in the cw, an underrated fighter.
    His best victories without a doubt Macarinelli and Chakhiev

    A fine fighter with very good skills, good jab, fast and good movements, although he was champion for 6 months I think that bad decisions played a trick on him in several of his fights, without a doubt he deserved a better career than had, was undoubtedly robbed against Cloud, Shumenov 2, and in both fights with Murat.
    His weak points bad jaw and little punch, his best victories were Garay,Shumenov and Williams jr

    From what I remember for sure he deserved to beat Garcia, I think the fight with Alvarado was quite close

    If Jacobs were given the nod against GGG, he probably would've gotten Canelo in September and might have pulled that off too.

    Sergey Kovalev. I have no doubt he would have at least stayed dominant in his division a little longer had he been given the decision win against Ward the first time. He fell apart after Ward stopped Kovalev in the rematch.

    Kell Brook. I think he is one of the most poorly managed fighters in recent years.

    A lot of the guys from the late 70s and 80s. Cooney, Tate, and all those others had the skill to be legends, but had questionable chins, and obviously didn't have a lot of heart.

    Frankie Randall. Still achieved quite a bit but didnt win a title until age 32.

    Obviously Mike Tyson could have done a lot more during his prime if he had remained disciplined and kept his team intact.

    Mike Tyson is the best example but i think some haters don't accept the lot of excuses around Tyson.

    In the early 2000s I always felt that with a little something extra added to his game demcarcus corley could have been more. He was competitive with judah, was game against mayweather (although thoroughly outboxed) and hurt cotto. The end of his career unfolded extremely mediocre , after the loss to cotto his record stood at 29-4-1 and finished his career at 55-33-1 despite being a contender earlier in his career. I wonder if he would have had a better career with different trainers or management?
