Baer and Tyson are pretty obvious examples, at least by reputation. It would be quite interesting to know how much they really did or didn't train and at what stage.
Those stories are a dime a dozen for fighters that lose a fight. Doubt Chavez jr could have taken all that punishment for 11,5 rds and still have the power to nearly KO Martinez if not being in shape.
Eddie Mustafa Muhummad. His fight cancellation with Michael Spinks changed how weigh in were conducted in the future.
Although of the top of my head I can't remember a damn thing about him other than his name, there was a fighter (I think at heavyweight) named Wimpy Halstead. Not sure how fitting that was, but I'd damn sure legally change that name if I were going to become a professional fighter.
Looking on boxrec his name was Jerry, and he actually choose to fight as Wimpy. Loads of boxers fight with fake names, if I was a boxer I think I'd go old school and pick either "Young" or "Battling" for lulz.
True that. But I think Greg had training problems since his amateur days, when he admitted to not training as hard for some of his wins over Tubbs back then.
