Lara hit him with a lot of shots but didn't hurt him, yet Williams could do nothing him. Sergio battered Williams in the 1st fight but didn't stop him. Williams was way to raw and unskilled to compete with the top WW'S. His biggest win was a controversible decision against one of the slowest unskilled fighters in the sport. And Willams is not a big hitter himself.

    What about Haye?
He was considered a big Cruiser, but gave up alot of size against the Heavies. He did fairly well against B and C level comp, but couldnt hang against the elite..

I think it is safe to say that Lara fought a shot version of Williams. Also if Sergio was naturally smaller (welterweight) I think his punches would have done less damage and Williams punches would've done more damage therefore changing the way the fight went. Fighters drain themselves to make lower weights to maintain these natural advantages, therefore the lower Williams stayed, the higher success rate he would've had.

I remember a lot of Hatton fans , and to some extent Ricky himself felt he would dominate at 147.

The best of Holyfield came after he moved up from CW - he's one of the all time legendary heavyweight champions - he certainly didnt pay for disrespecting the division.
