Lol, that was big of Harry - the caveat being, unless it was his own blood.

Were there any fights Henry Cooper won while bleeding like a stuck pig?

The man was as game as they come but boy could he bleed like very few could. Perhaps nicks Corpuscles Cooper or Haemophiliac Henry might’ve been more apt.

Has Jeff Harding vs Andries been mentioned yet? Jeff was bleeding pretty good IIRC.

A cut or bloodied face and it’s duly weighted disadvantages really have to be treated on a case by case basis - placement, severity etc. - quite a few different ways fighters can be adversely affected and in varying degrees.

Zale-Graziano 2 is a classic example. We have no film except 8mm film clips shot way up in the stands, but there are numerous accounts of the fight and the effort it took Rocky's handlers to reduce the swelling in his eye. The best article I know of is W.C. Heinz's "Somebody Up There Likes Him," which has been reprinted in several anthologies, most notably Once They Heard The Cheers.

Great call. Bleeding like that AND against a top fighter in Zora Folley, no less. Great win for Henry. Thanks Kernow.

Don't think I've ever seen Sanchez with a cut, honestly.

Not a bloody face, but David Reid won the Olympics in 96 with an eyelid injury that affected his vision.
