For most top fighters it is difficult to end their careers on a good note. Name some fighters you know who left the sport in good fashion Exp...Lennox Lewis stoppage of Vitali, Michael Carbajals 11th round Tko over Arce.

That wasn't quite a bang Lennox went out with...but fighters going out on top is so rare in boxing, that it's hard to come up with someone. I would say Maywather, but he came back, so...

Fighter who left on good terms? I love the way Carbajal left as champion. Most guys would love to retire like that. Hagler was not bad but the way he acted made it a bitter retirement. Lennox also was a good example. Anyone who leaves the sport as champion came out looking good.

problem with Mayweather is that he knew with his resume that his legacy would always be shaky since he never fought a really great prime guy who was on top. I knew he would be back. It was not like he had this great career and retired, he knows his career has been handpicked. Calzaghe was more legit since he did fight the best and try to fight them all.

    Marciano KO over Moore
Holmes Beats Butterbean at like 53
    Vitali destroying Williams
Jim Jeffries retiring as first undefeated hwt champ
    Calzaghe over jones
tough list unfortunately many of the greats go out on their backs

I like Calzaghe but to say Maywheather never fought a really great prime guy at the top in comparing his career to Calzaghes. Maywheather in a shorter career won his title from G Hernandez, beat undefeated D Corrales, who became a 2 weight champ, J Chavez, who also became a 2 weight champ, moved up in weight and beat top LW J Castillo, former 2 weight champ Judah, De La Hoya when yes, past his best but still a world LMW champ, and undefeated 2 weight world champ Hatton.
Kessler, Jones and Hopkins although good names on the resume, dosent compare.
But Calzaghe did leave on a high
