    ....and terrible the next...I'm thinking James Kirkland...like the best 154lbr Knocking out El Perro and terrible the next fight...

    or how about Brandon Rios?...he looked like a different fighter againts Abril, terrible really....

    anyone have some more recent examples of fighters who look great/awful from fight to fight?

    i disagree...Amir is pretty consistent in his performances, except when he got caught against Prescott..

    yea, Lewis did seem to be a bit inconsistent for a great fighter...

    Zab Judah had stopped Wayne Martell in one round, TKO'd Spinks in the 9th, TKO'd Rivera in the third... Then lost to Baldomir.

    he just had 2 really bad performances 1 being near the end 1 being at his best

    McCall he just got caught vs a puncher it happens

    how bout

    Jeff Lacy, looked great in his fight before joe looked awful vs joe

    Hatton got a big win over Malinaggi then got crushed by Manny

    Margo beat Cotto down then got clobered by Mosley

    Mosley Clobbered Mosley got dominated by Floyd

    Trinidad smoked Joppy got it handed to him by Hopkins

    most of the guys in the 80s who held the WBA hwt crown

    most would look great winning it and then get taken out in their first defense showing up in lack luster form

    Leon Spinks in his 2 fights with Ali
