Ok, maybe I was being flippant on Ali/Frazier but as far as I know only the ref can 'stop' the fight. A trainer can't, just as a trainer can't force a fighter to carry on. Ultimately it's the fighters choice. Frazer made his.

And 'technically' yes the ref did stop the fight with AJ so officially that's correct. Unofficially in my and many other people's minds the opinion is AJ quit....

The rest are official 'quits'. Whether you think they are worthy of a mention or not, or whether injury caused the 'quit', they're still quits. As per the thread title.

But hey, It's good to disagree.

Another one springs to mind with Galota/Tyson.

Eddie Futch made the choice to pull Frazier off, he had seen 4 guys die in the ring before and didn't want that to happen to Joe. Joe Frazier got a heart of a champion and doesn't deserves the label of a quitter

The AJ fight, I disagree but agree that is debatable. He was clearly losing and didn't seem like he wanted to be there

Saunders said the same thing about Dubois quitting on broken optical injury till it happened to him on the Canelo fight, so per your standards there is another one

Quitting is not a bad thing. It's a smart thing, actually. Why continue getting punched in the face in a match which you realize you have no chance of winning?

A true champion's mentality should be that you ALWAYS have a chance of winning. It separates the goods from the greats. Inspiring comebacks are one of the greatest part of the sport.

@EddieLima A separate thread should be opened then, about the greatest comebacks in boxing.

Listen. Some people think Sienna Brown isn't just a weird shade of orange. But it is that.

A recent example is when Joyce imposed his chin and will on Dubois and made him quit

Pacquiao made Morales quit in the 3rd fight. Was really sad to see a great fighter like Morales shake his head and called it quits on the canvas.

As I've already said, it's good to disagree.

You've got your standards and opinions and I've got mine.
