Boxing is full of tales of fighters who managed to climb off the floor to comeback and post a win. It's almost a badge of honour to overcome the adversity of being hurt and floored but still getting up and winning the fight.

Most of the great ones from Robinson,Ali,Leonard,Moore,Louis etc all managed to get up after being knocked down and go on to post victories,it's part of what made them so great.

But what fighters never came back from a knock down to win a fight?

They might still be great fighters but one's that couldn't/wouldn't overcome the odds of rising off the canvas to win.

An obvious example would be Mike Tyson who every time he was dropped (Douglas,Holyfield,Lewis) would go on to lose.

Lennox Lewis is another who I don't think ever got up off the floor to post a win (you could argue he was dropped by Akinwande but it wasn't ruled a knock down),losing to both McCall and Rahman.

I'm not looking for people that were never floored but specifically those that were that always went on to lose.

    Any other examples???

I don't recall Erik Morales ever getting up off the canvas to win a fight.

Did Sonny Liston ever get off the deck to win a fight? I know he didn't win after getting floored by Ali and Leotis Martin.

Mike tyson - everytime he was knocked down - he never came back to win - i think once you'd put him down you could pretty much take it steady in the knowledge that it was just a matter of time really

The thing is some of these fighters had good enough balance to not go down when hurt, so only went down when they were well truly done, ie Tyson who was hurt against Bruno but didn't go down and Mayweather who was hurt numerous times but didnt go down, unless you count the Judah/Hernandez kds

So if Tyson got a flash KD against an overmatched opponent he wouldn't win

Your obsessed with race RSN, I was more talking about the concept. Pacquaio and Morales are 2 I dont believe got off the canvas to win, does Naseem Hamed have more heart than them or is he more careless?

The only time I've read of Armstrong being knocked down was his very first pro fight.
