Jose 'Negro' Torres - had both Danny Lopez and Alexis Arguello down but couldn't finish them.

Holmes 2nd round Cooney. To me it was a sign of Larry's just-happening decline that he didn't do his usual avalanche-of-right-hands finishing move after flooring Cooney. He was older and thus more cautious. He could have made the fight much easier.

I remember one guy I was watching it with the day it happened say "Holmes was worried the promoters would get angry, people spending so much money on a two round fight!" lol

Had it been 1980 Cooney would have been done.

Unfortunately, I don't believe it's on youtube. I read about it back in the day on one of the brilliant magazines from the Victory Sports Series like International or World Boxing and the writeup told of Torres dropping Arguello during their non-title 10 rounder. It never stated what round but I did check just now on boxrec which stated that he dropped Arguello in the 9th. I'm truly not surprised because Torres was a merciless banger, but really didn't have the full skill level to go with it. Too bad because he would have been formidable to go along with dangerous.

His fight with Marvis Frazier was an interesting one. He had Marvis in bad trouble early on and the referee issued a standing 8 count which got Frazier out of the moment. It was technically correct but an odd call.
After that Frazier just wanted it more and took over each round. Outgutted him.

As I recall... Yory boy Campas had some opponents on the deck and could not finish them. I know he knocked down Trinidad with a six inch left hook & then proceeded to get pummeled.
