Jose Napoles quitting against Carlos Monzon. Although to be fair he was outsized and took a hellacious beating that was too much for him to keep going.

I’m probably missing something, but did Duran actually quit on his stool?

Versus Leonard and Lawlor, he was on his feet both times right?

    I just rechecked & you're right.

I was thinking of the Lawlor fight when I typed that, but I'd misremembered that they actually called a halt to the round instead of returning to the corner.

Kaylor ( versus Herol Graham). The corner officially said it was a cut eye..
He did have a cut in an awkward place but he was fast running on empty from having to cut his weight so drastically in the days leading up to the fight.
He never fought at MW again.

    Jess Willard.

But he’d already taken far more than his fair share of punishment. No shame attached whatsoever.

So, did Six Heads Lewis quit on his “stool” literally or did he just have to go do wee wees? :D

When you have an active brain bleed, is it really quitting?
