Speaking of Morales, I was stunned by the effort he put in against Maidana. I did have Maidana winning, but considering it was way past Morales’ weight and years removed from his prime, you can’t help but be impressed by that performance.

Johnson had to work his way back too. He was thrown to a few prospects who he upset. I remember reading Graham Houston's page in Boxing News being amazed as Marvin put himself back at the front of the queue.

Hi fellas, Foreman coming back as a geriatric so many years after the Young fight has to be first for mine.

As a few guys said Duran also has to get a mention. I thought he was toast after Hearns flattened him.

As far as recent examples, Roman " Chocolatito " Gonzales deserves a mention as I thought he was finished after the two Wisaksil Wangek fights yet he stopped Khalid Yafai in February to win another " world " title.

    Cheers Everyone.

Ali was already done with Shavers. He made a half miracle with Spinks II when he went 3 times world champion.
As to Lewis he wasnt done with McCall. I was referring to Lewis of Rahman I. After that fight many thought he was over..including me.

Not sure at all on the McCall early stoppage re Lewis. Lewis staggered into the ref so the ref stopped it. People who are staggering into someone like that are usually done.

I seriously doubt Lewis had much left in that fight. He would have staggered right back into that right imo,

Lewis was beat, fair and square, both knockouts. It's the main reason (besides having a strangely difficult time with well-past-it Holyfield) I have him behind and not in front of Foreman and Holyfield, at #6 instead of #4.

I thought Wlad was done after Sanders and Brewster.

Johnny Gonzalez. At 32, he looked to be done after his previous title try but came back with the best win of his career - a first round KO of undefeated p4p candidate Abner Mares.

Jermain Taylor beating Sam Soliman for the IBF Middleweight Title was so unexpected and such a dominant performance (after so many dangerous-looking losses) that it really stands out for me. I was very happy for Jermain. Great performance to end a career on.

Erik Morales, after losing to Zahir Raheem, getting stopped by Pac twice and then losing to David Diaz (I took my son to the Diaz fight because I thought that was the end of the line for him) only to come back and put on that show with Maidana ... that was a great night.

It's forgotten now, but many people, myself included, actually thought Marco Antonio Barrera was finished after he lost back-to-back fights with Junior Jones (including that first fight knockout - which it actually was). If you divided his career at the Junior Jones loses, the second half of his career was more exciting than the first.
